Florapy Beauty | Review

Florapy Beauty was kind enough to send me two of their sheet masks awhile back. I like most face masks but sheet masks are always a hit or miss for me. I feel like they never stay on my face and are always too messy. But regardless, I was still eager to test these out. 

They allowed me to choose, but I really liked all of their options, so I asked the brand to choose their personal favorites or their most popular masks. I was super excited to try the Jasmine and Peppermint, I love anything minty.

(Clear Complexion Mask - $8)

The first mask I tried was the Dandelion Lemongrass and it was really nice! The scent was light and when you placed it on your skin it didn't move around or fall off like the average sheet mask I've tried in the past.

I left it on for about 15 minutes and then rinsed it off with warm water. It was nice but I didn't feel like it did anything remarkable for my skin, however it did smell nice and was a nice way to relax.

(Detox Mask - $8)

The Peppermint Mask, however I really enjoyed. The smell was wonderful (I adore jasmine and peppermint!) and I felt like it really made my skin feel very clean. 

Overall, I would recommend this brand if you're looking for some new sheet masks to try. They have a variety of scents and masks to treat every type of skin. Every mask is $8, which might seem steep for something that is a single use. But if you're looking for the perfect thing to add to your girls night or even if you just want to take a night to treat yourself and relax, these are definitely worth checking out.

Maple Holistics | Review

Maple Holistics is a brand committed to using natural and healthy ingredients to improve your hair, skin, and hygiene. I'm always looking for new hair products and face products to try, so the moment they reached out to me, I said of course! I browsed through their website and found their limited edition, winter blend shampoo and conditioner, and the Dead Sea face mask were the products I were most eager to try. 

Spread this mask all over your face or in your problem areas. Leave it on for about 15 minutes or until it's dry. I've never used the Glamglow Supermud mask but they way this Dead Sea mask dries reminded me of it. It dries as a light green but any blemishes or areas on your face that are oiler than others, dries dark green. 

This mask isn't very harsh or drying so you could use it more than once a week if you wished! It is pretty messy though while washing it off, so keep that in mind! I'd recommend applying it before you shower and washing it off in the shower! 

The winter blend shampoo and conditioner smell very minty, which I love. It works well but it can be a bit drying if you use it daily. The smell lingers for quite awhile in my hair so if you're a fan of long lasting minty scents, then this would be a great shampoo and conditioner for you!

Current MAC Lipstick Collection #NationalLipstickDay

Happy National Lipstick Day! Since lipstick is definitely something I have a lot of, I thought posting about the makeup brand that I have the most lipsticks from would be a fun idea.

MAC was the first "high end" makeup brand I ever purchased from and since then I have collected 13 of their lipsticks! I have a ton of other tubes from different brands but MAC is the bulk of my growing lipstick collection.

Taupe is one of my favorite shades because I am a sucker for a pink/brown. I sometimes feel that cool tone pinks look soft of odd with my skin tone, but I'm trying to get used to them. 

Pretty Please was actually the first MAC lipstick I ever bought. It's not really a shade I usually pick up but at the time I didn't know about the different finishes so I grabbed the first one that appealed to me. It's still a really nice shade if you want something that isn't too noticeable.

Surprisingly, I don't have many reds. I feel like every beauty blogger has a large collection of reds, but it's honestly not something I buy a lot of. I love red lipstick but whenever I'm out shopping I'm always attracted to other colors first. I really love vampy colors so Diva is obviously my favorite out of these three!

I picked up Ruby Woo awhile ago since I heard everyone constantly talking about it. But I then realized that Russian Red actually suits me more! I prefer a red lipstick with a blue undertone!

And lastly, I have the purple shades. Purple is my favorite color so of course I have to have some beautiful shades of purple lipstick! 

I will admit, Daddy's Little Girl was mostly bought because it was from the Archie Girl's Collection a few years back and I couldn't resist the packaging. Cyber is still a lip color that takes some guts to wear but it's so pretty during the colder months!

One of my all time favorite colors is Up the Amp, I love that it isn't too overwhelming but it still gives you a noticeably unique color.

However, I didn't mind too much.  Of course, I had to get my hands on these because Steven Universe is one of my favorite series ever! The two Nyx Soft Matte Lip Creams and the Ardell lashes were completely impulse buys. I was walking around Ulta and just grabbed them. Of course, I certainly don't regret it! The lip creams are beautiful and have wonderful pigmentation and the Ardell lashes are always one of my favorites!

These are brushes that I came across while browsing Ebay one day and they immediately caught my eye because this 4 brush set was priced at $1.88 with FREE shipping! I'm not really super keen on shopping on Ebay but after purchasing these, I will definitely check them out more often. I was really surprised at how nice the quality of these were. They are so soft and blend my shadow beautifully and I have incorporated them into my daily makeup routine! I actually like these so much I've been thinking about buying a second set just to have them around.

I desperately needed some new sunglasses. I really don't own any and I wanted to get into the habit of wearing them more often to protect my eyes from the sun! I really wanted some 'aviator" like shades and was so excited when I scored this awesome limited edition set from ZeroUV!

I'm not a huge fan of the yellow/orange tinted shades but I am in love with the blue and green tinted ones! They are a bit big, but I don't mind. I would definitely recommend checking out ZeroUV if you want cheap but amazing looking sunglasses. They have so many styles and they are all reasonably priced. 

And lastly, I got this adorable mini cupcake maker! How cute is that? This was actually a gift from my mother because I would always point it out whenever I saw one! I'm definitely going to have to pick up the lavender cake pop maker soon! I didn't want to talk about this in depth because I'm going to do a review and a demo of this later on, so look out for that!

Empties #001 : Hair Products

Welcome to my first ever empties post! This was actually something that was very weird for me to shoot..I felt so odd taking photos of things that I would typically throw away, but I do enjoy empties videos and posts because, since the person has used the whole product, they can usually make an educated decision on whether the product is worth it and if they would purchase again. So, lets dive in.

Mane 'n Tail Shampoo and Conditioner - This might be a bit odd for some of you if you have never heard of this brand, but yes, this is a shampoo and conditioner that can be used for horses AND humans! It's said that if you use this product it will help your hair grow a bit faster than it normally would, my hair grows pretty quickly as it is so I don't really notice much of a difference. However, I do really like these products because they feel like they're quite gentle! I might buy it once in awhile but it's not anything that I could rave about!

Salon Selectives 3 Minute Hair Therapy - I had never tried this brand and I didn't use this conditioner solely for a deep repair mask. I actually used it to mix and dilute some hair dye when I was playing around with a lot of color. Since I leave dye in my hair for around 3 hours I felt like I might as well do a deep repair mask while the dye is soaking in! It was nice and did make my hair soft. It was super cheap so I would probably repurchase if I was out and about and ran into it.

Aussie Aussome Volume - I featured this in a Current Favorites post last year and I said I really enjoyed it, which was true for the time being! However, the more I used it, the more I realized it was really terrible at keeping my hair in tact with humidity and other factors. It was best to keep my bangs in place but now that I've let my front bangs grow out, I really have no use for it anymore. I'm still looking for my perfect hairspray, so if any of you have recommendations, let me know!

SoftSheen-Carson Keratin Sealing Leave-in Conditioner - This product instantly caught my attention when I saw my mom using it. It was mostly the smell that I fell in love with. It smells like sandalwood, which I love! I asked her what she was using and I knew I had to have it! I really loved spraying it through my hair when it was damp, it would make my hair smell good and also help reduce tangles. I would definitely repurchase this!

Garnier Fructis Damage Eraser - I don't really have much to say about this product. It's just an average conditioner that you can get at any supermarket! It smells great, but I don't notice any "damage erasing" regardless, would I purchase again? Maybe. When I'm looking for shampoo/conditioner at a store I usually just pick whatever jumps out. So, nothing special about this certain conditioner but nothing bad about it either!

Clairol Hair Food Mask - This hair mask was sent to me by Influenster. I talked about it in my  Hair Food Moisture Mask review. I actually really loved this product! I thought it smelled delicious and worked great! I would leave it in after washing my hair for 30 minutes to an hour and then wash it out, my hair would always smell so good and feel very soft! I'm pretty sure you can purchase this brand at Target, I haven't tried the other products but I'm pretty eager to!

Manic Panic Enchanted Forest - I had this bottle of dying lying around for awhile. There was a time where I had about 5 or 6 bottles of dye that were full or slightly used that were just going to waste. So after I lightened my hair I thought I would have a little fun! This Enchanted Forest was the first green dye I had ever used. The only reason I gravitated towards using it was because I had used up the rest of my colors and they had all faded out. I didn't think I'd like it but I ended up falling in love! It was so incredibly pigmented and it looked so cool! I never thought I would have green hair and actually like it and a huge plus, it lasted longer than ANY of my other dyes! After 14 washes it was still very vivid! I am definitely going to repurchase this and more manic panic dyes!

Splat Lusty Lavender - I adore purple hair, so when I saw this at Walmart I picked it up on a complete whim. This dye was very messy, and very dark. Once I applied and eventually washed it out it gave a very dark and pigmented purple color. It was a little darker than I wanted but I knew it would fade into a lighter color, I just didn't know it would fade as fast as it did. This dye faded so drastically I don't see the point in having it...unless you only wash your hair once a week, then maybe you'd like it. I just don't want to spend money on a dye that fades and is splotchy after 1-2 washes. Maybe I had too high expectations but I don't think I'll buy splat again. ( I also tried the pink and had the same result.)

1. Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami - I have been interested in reading this book for quite awhile now.

2. & 3. Borderlands/Borderlands 2 - Surprisingly, I have never played any of the Borderlands games! I've always been interested in trying them out and adding them to my collection.

4. Too Faced Natural Matte Eye Palette -  It's not that I necessarily need this palette, I just think it'd be a nice addition to my neutral shadow collection.

5. Kat Von D Shade + Light Contour Palette - I am a huge fan of the Anastasia contour kit...but I've heard this one is even better! I'm always looking for something that will step up my contour and highlight game a little more, so this is definitely high on my wishlist.

6. Canon G7x - This is definitely a huge splurge item. I have been wanting a good camera that is lighter so I can carry it wherever I go. Plus, I've been wanting to start a Youtube channel, and unfortunately, the camera I currently use doesn't support videos. I feel like this camera is not only practical, but great quality!

7. My Neighbor Totoro - I own most of the Studio Ghibli movies, but for some odd reason, I don't own one of the staple movies that everyone always links to Ghibli! This is a wonderful movie and I'd really like to add it to my movie collection!

8. Too Faced Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar - I've been after this palette since it released! The original Chocolate Bar Palette is one of my all time favorites, so I'm sure this one won't disappoint!

9. Silent Hill HD Collection - Silent Hill is my favorite gaming series of all time. After I recently got rid of my Xbox, I've had to switch all of my games over to PS3. Unfortunately, I haven't added these back into my video game collection, but hopefully I will have them back soon!

10. Tartlette Amazonian Clay Matte Eyeshadow Palette - I have never tried any of Tarte's shadows, but a beautiful palette filled with gorgeous, matte, neutral shades? Count me in!

11. #Girlboss by Sophia Amoruso - I've heard everyone talk about this book and I'm sure you have too! It just seems like such an interesting read, plus I really love the site Nasty Gal!

12. Big Hero 6 -  Of course, I had to add my current favorite movie to my list. This was a movie that made me laugh and also brought me to tears. It's such a wonderful film and I could watch it over and over again. I definitely need to own this!



Since it is now June and my birthday is quickly approaching, I thought I would throw together a little wishlist, since you all seemed to like it last year when I made one and I enjoy making them!

Sugar Pop | Beauty Review

Let me start off by saying that Too Faced is one of my favorite beauty brands. The quality of their products are always wonderful. Often times their palettes are cheaper than other brands as well! And we can't deny, they always have the cutest packaging. From making their products smell like chocolate to offering beautifully blendable eye shadows, this brand has done no wrong in my eyes.

If I'm being honest, when I first saw photos of this palette, I mainly wanted it because of the packaging. But can you blame me? How cute are all of these fun, multicolored macaroons? After doing some research and reading some reviews I knew it was something that I really wanted to add to my collection. You can imagine how excited I was when this palette popped up in my mailbox!

The palette has beautiful packaging and it's also quite structured and stable. Even though it does have a magnetized closing, I still am a bit wary to just throw this into a bag. If you're traveling with it I'd make sure you tuck it into a makeup bag so it won't open up!

The shadows are separated into different categories going across each row.

The top row; Sweet & Spicy - Rock Candy, Macaron, Malted Milk Ball
The middle row; Sugar Plums - Strawberry Ice, Sugared Violet, Blackberry
The bottom row; Candy Coated - Peach Fuzz, Bubblegum, Blue Raspberry

They included 3 highlight shades, 3-4 lovely pops of color and two shades that can be described as a bit more neutral. I love bright colors, but I am still a bit nervous when it comes to applying them. But after testing this palette out, I discovered that one of my favorite shades is the beautiful Blue Raspberry! I think it adds the perfect touch of color when you run it under your bottom lash line after completing your eye look.

Two shades I'm not too fond of are Rock Candy and Peach Fuzz. My only problem is they are extremely similar. They do have some slight differences but I don't think they should have added both colors into one palette, however I am super pleased with everything else!

SoothingSista x Memebox Palette

I've heard of Memebox circling around Youtube but I never had the inclination to buy anything from their site. I figured they were strictly a subscription service and I'm just not interested in subscribing to a monthly box at the moment. However, as I was watching one of my favorite youtubers, SoothingSista, she mentioned that she had created her very own eye shadow palette that is available for purchase on the Memebox website!

I knew I had to check it out and upon arriving to the site I impulsively purchased the palette. 

I LOVE when I get packages with handwritten notes. I feel like it adds just a little more personalization when someone takes the time to write something.

These colors are gorgeous and unlike any other eye shadows I have. I still haven't bought the Naked 3 palette that is filled with rose tinted shades, but I felt like this quad would be the perfect introduction to pink-based shadows.

The Sutro and Valencia are matte while Candy Rain and Bae Area are shimmer/glitter. The matte shadows don't have as much pigmentation as I'd like, unfortunately. I feel like if you are tan or have a darker complexion, they will not show up on you well. I feel like I am relatively pale and once applied you can hardly tell I have any on. It's EXTREMELY neutral.

The bottom two shadows are more pigmented, but I really recommend using a glitter primer for Bae Area as it's very glittery and tends to have quite a lot of fallout. I'd recommend using a product like Fix+ on your shadow brush when applying these and also using a primer so you can get the most out of the colors.

Other than those two things I really like this palette. It's perfect and compact to take on the go and it's great to create a simple everyday look with. The pricing isn't too bad in my opinion either. The palette is $17, I found a coupon code but I don't think it's available anymore, sorry!

This palette is definitely worth buying if you're interested in the shades and want to support a lovely youtuber!

Beauty Favorites of 2014

I know, I know. It's almost March and I'm just NOW uploading a 2014 Beauty Favorites post. In my defense I have had this planned for awhile, just a lot of stuff has been coming up lately that has prolonged me from posting frequently. But regardless, better late than never, right?

( I don't think it's sold anymore, sorry! )

My first favorite will have to go to Make Up For Ever HD High Definition Primer in the green shade. 2014 was the first time I actually started using primers and I really fell in love with this one. I have lots of redness in my face and the green tone really calms it down and makes my skin very even. It also does help keep my foundation on longer. Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation & Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Foundation

I have two favorite foundations of 2014! The Tarte Amazonian Clay and the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra were both foundations that really stood out for me. The Tarte has great coverage but looks very natural and it stays for a very long time! I can say the same for the Lancome foundation, however I only use it when I have a big event to go to because of the price.

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer

The NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer was definitely a winner. I love putting this under my eye area in the shape of a triangle. It gives a really beautiful highlight while covering up dark circles.

Anastasia Contour Kit

There are so many good things I could say about the Anastasia Contour Kit, but I'm sure you all have heard plenty. Bottom line is, if you haven't tried it you definitely need to! It has the perfect shades to contour and highlight and has really made me more comfortable in contouring my face. Before I had this, I was so hesitant to contour! Now it's one of my favorite things to apply.

MAC Blush - Melba  &  NARS Blush - Deep throat

These two blushes are rather similar except for one being a shimmer and the other a matte, but I really found myself using both of these blushes quite a lot. The MAC blush in Melba is a beautiful shade I had had my eyes on for such a long time, and when I finally bought it I realized what I was missing out on! It's not overpowering and it just gives the right amount of color to your cheeks, which I really love.

The NARS blush in Deep throat is also gorgeous. I'm not a huge fan of shimmer blushes, I usually tend to stick to mattes, however I really fell in love with this shade. The shimmer is very light and I feel like it looks beautiful especially in the summer time when you want a more "glowy/dewy" look.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder

These Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders are my favorite setting powder I have used. It doesn't make me look cakey at all and it gives such a lovely glow that doesn't make you look like a discoball. The only downside is the steep price but I feel like if you find the right powder to go with your skintone it will be worth it!

MAC Fluidline - Dipdown

Fluidlines are often used as eyeliners but my favorite way to use this is for my eyebrows! I take an angled brush and fill in the tail of my brow first so it's the darkest. I then make my eyebrow an ombre using lighter or heavier brush strokes. It works great and I never have an issue with it fading or smearing. I've always used this as part of my brow routine but it just recently became the only product I use.

Urban Decay Primer Potion

I always had problems with shadows creasing or fading through out the day, but I never have that problem anymore with Urban Decays Primer Potion. It really holds onto my eyeshadows and keeps them looking freshly applied the whole time and you only need a tiny bit! There really isn't much to say other than I love it and will definitely repurchase.

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eye Palette

This palette is my favorite of all that I own. Sometimes I really feel like it was made specifically for me. All of the colors are so gorgeous and I feel like they are so much better than the Naked Palettes. The shades are extremely pigmented and creamy and blend out beautifully. Rimmel ScandalEyes Rockin Curves Mascara

I received this mascara in an Influenster Box, you can see the post here! Mascara is one of those products that I really hate buying, I don't know why, I just hate spending money on it! Influenster sent me this one and it's not amazing by any means, but it is my most used and I do like how it lengthens and volumizes my lashes. I think it's worth buying for the price!

Maybelline Ultra Liner

I've tried so many different eyeliners and none of them are actually waterproof. My eyes tend to water quite a bit causing my eyeliners to smear, flake off or just get all over the place. I really want to try more high end eyeliners in the future but I was pleasantly surprised to come across a Maybelline liner that really stays. It drys pretty fast and the only way I can get it completely off is to use an oil based makeup remover. It's the best one I currently have! Although, it does dry out pretty quickly but it's very cheap so I have no complaints!

Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray

I always have issues with my mascara transferring, eyeliner smearing, or my concealer creasing. I didn't think there was anything that was going to dramatically improve any of those issues until I tried Urban Decay All Nighter Spray. All it takes is 2-4 sprays all over my face after applying my makeup and it will stay on for hours and hours! I even used this on my most recent road trip and my makeup was still on 16 hours later, crazy!

Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick - Cathedral

This is the first Kat Von D lipstick I bought. I had seen it online but figured I probably had a color similar to it in my collection already. But after going to Sephora and swatching it, I knew I had to buy it. Cathedral is such a beautiful pinky brown and it's unlike anything I have! I've also noticed that it's a lot more longlasting than any of the MAC lipsticks I own.

I just always notice myself picking this shade up before anything else. I will definitely be purchasing more of these!
