Where I've Been + I Moved to Arizona!

Hi, remember me? No? I don't blame you. I've been gone for...3 months! Has it really been that long?

A lot has happened in the time I've been gone. I moved across the country, I went to California and Disneyland for my first time, I got my first job, etc. I will have some very delayed posts about my trip to Cali and Disney coming up as soon as I can.

I feel like I owe some sort of explanation on why I've been gone. Sure, I've been busy but the main reason I haven't posted anything is because I left my desktop computer in Ohio. It's not the easiest to blog on an iPad mini. I'm currently saving up and will have my own computer soon, so look forward to more blog posts!

I really want to get back into blogging regularly. I miss hearing all your feedback and sharing my experiences and thoughts with you! Thank you all who have stuck around while I disappeared. I really appreciate it!

As far as my move went, it was as smooth as can be! I ended up flying me and my cat to Arizona in December and it went so well! We are both healthy and happy to be here. I haven't experienced my first Arizona summer, so maybe I'll change my mind in a few months....(haha).

I can go more in-depth on my move across the country in a later post. I just wanted to let you all know I'm still around and I appreciate you!

I'll be back soon, I promise I won't leave for another 3 months! Hope you all are doing well and have a wonderful weekend!

Maple Holistics | Review

Maple Holistics is a brand committed to using natural and healthy ingredients to improve your hair, skin, and hygiene. I'm always looking for new hair products and face products to try, so the moment they reached out to me, I said of course! I browsed through their website and found their limited edition, winter blend shampoo and conditioner, and the Dead Sea face mask were the products I were most eager to try.

Spread this mask all over your face or in your problem areas. Leave it on for about 15 minutes or until it's dry. I've never used the Glamglow Supermud mask but they way this Dead Sea mask dries reminded me of it. It dries as a light green but any blemishes or areas on your face that are oiler than others, dries dark green.

This mask isn't very harsh or drying so you could use it more than once a week if you wished! It is pretty messy though while washing it off, so keep that in mind! I'd recommend applying it before you shower and washing it off in the shower!

The winter blend shampoo and conditioner smell very minty, which I love. It works well but it can be a bit drying if you use it daily. The smell lingers for quite awhile in my hair so if you're a fan of long lasting minty scents, then this would be a great shampoo and conditioner for you!

I have definitely become a fan of Maple Holistics after trying these products! I love that they're natural, work well, and smell great! They have a good variety of products, so check them out at www.mapleholistics.com !

Autumn in Ohio

Hi everyone! I'm back with some photos I snapped of fall this year around my hometown. Unfortunately I always forget how fleeting fall is. It happens so suddenly and leaves so soon (pun...intended?), anyway I know everyone claims that autumn is their favorite time of the year, but there's a reason for that! Can I live in a place where it's fall all year around? Maybe?

The day I took this was so incredibly perfect! There is a nature trail directly behind my house that I walk on quite frequently. I typically go on walks right as the sun is coming up or going down, (I prefer to be alone during walks and the trail is usually pretty empty at these times) but on this day, I left in the middle of the day and it was the perfect fall afternoon! I wish I could have days like that every day.

I handed out candy on Halloween for the first time, it wasn't too exciting but it was still a fun way to spend Halloween evening and I liked seeing all the kids costumes. I really wanted to plan an elaborate costume this year but it always sneaks up on me and I have to do something last minute.

I spent the rest of my Halloween night watching horror movies and baking cookies, but I guess that's kind of an average night for me any time of the year!

I hope you all have had a lovely past month and a great Halloween! Let me know in the comments if you dressed up or what your dream costume would be!

Mansfield Reformatory

Something that I really wanted to do this year was visit the Mansfield Reformatory. Mansfield isn't too far from me, about an hour away, so it was insane that I hadn't visited it sooner!

I think a large fraction of people visit because this is where parts of the film The Shawshank Redemption was filmed, I know that was a big reason my mother wanted to tag along! But I wanted to go for different reasons, I love abandoned places, especially when they have a lot of history and haunting lore and I could just imagine what a great photo op it would be.

The cells were incredibly small, I can't imagine having one person living in there, let alone two.

The Reformatory opened it's doors in September 1896. They eventually closed them on December 31, 1990 due to overcrowding and inhumane conditions. It housed over 155,000 men in it's time! Can you imagine walking through this area while it's filled with prisoners? It's so weird when you explore an abandoned place and try to imagine it as it once was, new and finished and full of life.

While exploring you would occasionally come upon a random chair sitting in the middle of a room or off to the side. For some reason this seemed very eerie to me.

A cathedral stood at the top of the reformatory. All of the pews and decorations were strewn all over the place but this piece was somehow still in tact for the most part.

Right outside of the reformatory was this beautiful lake. I remember this day was particularly very hot and all I wanted to do was jump in and go swimming.

The Mansfield Reformatory is open for tours throughout the spring and summer. You can take guided or self guided tours, I picked the latter. I preferred to explore on my own and at my own pace. You can also schedule an event to stay overnight at the reformatory, which I think would be incredibly interesting and I would love to do it, but definitely not alone.

During October they have a haunt, which I've never been to, but wouldn't mind checking out!

If you're ever in the area, it's definitely worth a stop. A place with so much history should be experienced, whether you're there since you're a fan of the movie, paranormal, or just enjoy exploring.

Urthbox Unboxing

I'm always looking for new subscription boxes to get into, so when I heard about Urthbox I knew I needed to try it out! I really liked that you can choose what size box you receive and that they pack it full with snacks! Literally. When I got my box in the mail I couldn't close it after I opened it for the first time. It was stuffed.

I also loved that things were full sized, it's always nice to get full size products/snacks over samples.

I actually wasn't a huge fan of the above snacks unfortunately. I'm not a fan of coconut or blueberry, so that knocked out half of this small pile. The Chia Squeeze tasted good but had a strangest texture that was hard for me to enjoy! Although it was kind of fun trying it out.

It's no surprise to me that these were my favorite snacks in the box. I always prefer salty and savory over things that are sweet, so these were right up my ally! The Inka Corn and Purple Heirloom potato chips were my favorite. I haven't tried the Bops Sour Cream & Onion, but I'm sure they taste just like regular potato chips, so I think I'll be a fan.

Overall, I would definitely give them a try again. Just because I didn't like some of the snacks doesn't mean I'd write it off completely.

Their boxes come in a variety of sizes and go from $12.99 to $39.99. If you want to try it for yourself you can get $5 off your first box with the code "CRUNCHWEEK". I'd recommend using that if you're unsure and what to save a little money.

Check out Urthbox.com if you want your own or want more information!

I hope you all are doing well and having a great Friday!
